Brief:

Deutsche Telekom was seeking a Speculative Forecast for the future of the home in 2030 to inform a refresh of their T Gallery design concepts studio. This report was meant to serve as an inspiration to develop future concepts for smart home devices and interior design aesthetics.

Process:

We helped the client explore far future concepts using a Now, Near, Next forecasting framework. Highlighting early cultural manifestations and emerging devices to speculate how these concepts could evolve over the next 2-5 years, and then the next 7 years.

We helped the client narrow the breadth of concepts by breaking down their application into “jobs to be done” by room. Providing design prompts to Deutsche Telekom’s designers as creative briefs to inform their concept developments for the new T Gallery.

Impact:

The design concepts DT developed for the T Gallery informed by our team’s work received a 2024 iF Design award for UX Design.
